This pump ensures that the constant movement of the drinking water is maintained. Enriching the water with oxygen is important because cats and dogs often prefer to drink flowing water than stagnant water.
A secondary pump is of course always practical when the other pump is being cleaned or descaled - then there is no "dry time" for your pets!
The pump should be cleaned and descaled every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the hardness of the water.
